This build represents a major step forward from the last version of Guidance explorer:
  • 192 work items have been closed for this release
  • 15 unique guidance types in the library
  • 16 technologies covered in the library, including: ASP.NET, Visual Studio, Enterprise Services, Web Services, and many more
  • 144 topics with content in the library. Content topics range across topics as diverse as Windows Authentication, Caching, Class Design Considerations, Data Validation, and Team Foundation Build Services
  • 3490 guidance items included in the library

Most Important Changes

The most important changes for this release are:
  • Improved guidance library content and structure
  • The Online Guidance Store is now hosted on an MSDN server
  • The Online Guidance Store now allows us to push new guidance types and guidance views to you as well as guidance items
  • The Online Guidance Store is good enough now that you can deploy your own store and host your own online libraries
  • We've improve Guidance Explorer reliability, usability and performance through a multitude of bug fixes and feature additions
  • You can now copy/paste content from Microsoft Word into Guidance Explorer items without any formatting or image problems
  • We've made fixes to improve the security of the Online Guidance Store and the Guidance Explorer Client
